Which method of music notation is easier?

Interesting question. But it really depends on who it is. Sometimes, it's easier for some people to read them as chords, because they're more familiar with how chords sound. But, it is sometimes confusing for some to read. On the other hand, when written as layers, articulations are difficult to read, and it might be less clean on the page. Personally, I'd go with chords.
