Studying statistics.. at univesity in canada?

im going to take statistic courses as a minor...but..before that..i want to know what is about it... i got no idea and do i have to know how use comouter very well??? im very good at mathematics..and im taking as a major.. is it similar to mathematics???? give me some advice..thanks!!
