Why are evangelicals (especially Pentecostals) so unwilling to listen to orthodox scriptural teachings?

Because they believe they are right and Catholicism is wrong. That's all. And since they believe their very souls are at stake, you're not going to change their minds, at least not those who don't want their minds changed.
