PS3 Yellow Light of DEATH!!!!!?

I just bought a PS3 off ebay, got a really good price and nowhere in the listing does it say that its defective, it takes 5 days to come in the mail and the anticipation is killing me, being a former owner of one and a COD fanatic. Well I unwrap it, hook it up, try to turn it on.... and boom theres the Yellow light of death, needless to say i was extremely angry, and have contacted the guy who sold it to me, but heres the kicker, i did everything i could to get the thing to work, and no go. So it just sat to the side all day and i did research on the internet about the problem, well somewhere somehow i seen that somebody put their rrod xbox360 in the freezer and just ignored it, well about an hour ago before i got in the shower i was being a smart *** to my girlfriend and put it in the freezer, i got it out when i got out of the freezer and plugged it up, and BAMM!!!!!!!!!! it worked hahahahahhaha, for 10 Min's... and then it stopped, any explanation?
